Playtest builds: what creators are running

The playtest has been live for a week, and creators are already naming builds. We have not verified their gameplay. This page collects the leads, attributes every claim, and explains what would turn a video title into a guide.

View counts and build names are a snapshot, not a ranking. The creator’s class label may not match the final game’s class restrictions.

Build codes exist

Two independent creators posted strings beginning BO1. — one for a Samurai Cyclone, one for a Mage passive tree. That is strong evidence of an in-game build import/export feature, but the format is undocumented and may change between patches.

How to verify a lead

  1. Check the patch date

A video from 27 October may predate the 6 November patch. A build can be invalid before the upload is a week old.

  2. Check the tier

Creators report tier renumbering. “T200” may mean something different after a patch. Compare Rupture level, not the label.

  3. Check the class

A skill can be shown on a class that does not get it at launch. The store says each class has its own skills and weapons, but the gem pool is undocumented.

  4. Reproduce the core, not the numbers

Test the interaction (e.g. a channel that triggers a projectile), not the creator’s crit percentage. The interaction is the build; the number is the patch.

What would turn a lead into a guide

  • A screenshot of the skill tooltip, including tags and cost.
  • A screenshot of the support links, not just the skill name.
  • The passive tree path, or a build code plus the patch number.
  • A boss fight, not only a pack clear.
  • The character screen with the relevant stats, and a note on whether buffs are active.

If you have those, send them to [email protected]. We will publish a sourced build page and credit the tester.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best build in Broken Oath right now?
There is no verified tier list. The playtest is a week old, the developer is actively balancing, and online progress was reset on 6 November. Creator builds are leads, not rankings.
Is Poison Golem Necromancer real?
A creator’s video title names it. That is the only evidence we have. The skill name and its behaviour are unverified.
What is a BO1 build code?
A string beginning BO1. posted by two creators, apparently an in-game build import/export code. The format is undocumented.
Can I copy a creator’s passive tree?
Only if they posted the full path or a build code, and only if the code still works after the latest patch. Treat any tree screenshot as a snapshot.
