Sources: every claim has a receipt
A guide is only as good as its sources. This page lists the primary material behind the wiki, the date it was checked, and the questions it leaves open. If a page makes a claim you cannot trace here, tell us.
Primary sources
| Source | What it supports | Limitations |
|---|---|---|
| Steam store page — Broken Oath | Identity, six classes, systems, Early Access plan, languages, requirements, AI disclosure | Marketing copy; no skill lists or numbers |
| Steam appdetails API | Machine-readable store data, screenshot and movie URLs, language table | Same copy as the store; no unpublished data |
| Steam news hub | Patch notes and developer announcements | Empty or sparse before launch |
| Official Discord (public invite) | Developer announcements, playtest news | Private channels are not used; messages can be deleted or edited |
| Official store screenshots | HUD layout, passive tree UI, Rupture panel, location names, item label | Pre-release builds; UI can change |
| Official trailers and description loops | Combat feel, biomes, class silhouettes | Curated; not a full build |
Secondary sources
We use press coverage and creator videos only for discovery, not for facts the developer has not stated. If a video shows a mechanic, we label it observed and cite the video. We do not transcribe numbers from a compressed video as if they were a data table.
What we do not use
- Leaked builds or NDA material.
- Key resellers, pirate sites or cheat providers.
- AI-generated “wiki” pages with no primary source.
- Unverified Discord screenshots.
- Any release date that does not appear on the Steam store or Steam news.
Corrections
If a source changes, the page changes. Every guide shows an updated date; the changelog records what moved. To report an error, email [email protected] with the page and the source.
