The Early Access roadmap, minus the guesswork
The roadmap is short and specific: more of everything, a deeper endgame, a bigger Forge, and a controller pass. It is also explicitly unfinished. This page separates the promises from the things players keep assuming.
What is explicitly promised
| Area | Promise | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Skills & supports | More skills, support gems, unique items and Primal items for every class | Existing builds will gain options; old guides can go stale quickly |
| Ruptures | More Rupture themes, bosses and Guardian mechanics, plus a deeper endgame | The eight danger bands are a foundation, not the final ceiling |
| Forge | Expanded crafting with more recipes and materials | Crafting is a live system, not launch-day decoration |
| Controller | Full controller support and Steam Deck optimisation | The current pad support is partial; do not buy for Deck until it ships |
| Graphics & settings | Expanded graphics, display and control settings | Accessibility and UI options should improve |
| Localisation | More languages; the game already ships with 12 | Traditional Chinese is not among the current 12 |
| Balance | Ongoing balance, performance and quality improvements | Numbers will move; progression may be reset |
What is not promised
This is the part that keeps getting lost in wishlist threads. None of the following appears in the store’s Early Access answers:
- A 1.0 release date or a console version.
- Co-op, parties, trading or any multiplayer mode.
- Seasons, leagues or a live-service cadence.
- Cross-save or cloud saves.
- Mod support or a level editor.
- A specific number of skills, uniques, bosses or Rupture themes.
The price will rise
Crater Studios says it plans to “gradually raise the price as we add significant new content and features”, and that joining during Early Access will be the most affordable way to get the game. No current price is listed. That is a statement of intent, not a pre-order offer.
How to follow the roadmap without noise
-
Steam news is the source of record
Patch notes and roadmap updates appear on the Steam news hub. A fan site quoting a Discord message is a secondary source at best.
-
Watch the store page’s Early Access answers
Developers update those answers when the scope changes. They are more reliable than a pinned message from six months ago.
-
Treat playtest leaks as unverified
If a build is under NDA, any screenshot is both unverifiable and possibly a violation. We do not use them.
-
Re-check build guides after every major patch
The wiki dates every entry. If a guide is older than the last content patch, read it as history, not gospel.
